An Oz mate of mine recently left the Australian Air Force and is interested in Virgin Blue... And yes, I know it is a TERRIBLE TIME to look for a position in Australia with Ansett's problems - just like to know for when hiring begins again...

Anyone out there know about Virgin Blue conditions, morale, etc.? Where are the primary crew bases and predicted upgrade time to Captain?

I have seen its website and I am familiar with the aircraft - 737-400/700/800.

I am more interested in the morale level, the schedules and the upgrade time. Any opinions?

. .Cheers Mates!

LAVDUMPER, try the Dunnunda & Godzone forum mate, you're sure to get plenty of responses from pro- and anti-Virgin Blue employees.

Good luck.

LAVDUMPER...All Virgin Blue crews are based in Brisbane. Quite a number of multi day trips on the roster, doing up to 10 overnights a month. I know of several Ansett pilots who have recently secured positions with VB. Applications can be done on line thru their website and clicking on the staffcv link.. .Sorry I can't help you out with the morale question..I guess like any company, it depends who you ask.. .All the best of luck however !!!
