Pete,. .. .For the BBJs, I'd look at Jet Aviation out of Zurich/Basel, Privatair out of Geneva and Executive Jet Aviation out of Saudi Arabia - just check the Netjets website for the exact address and location. I agree, flying a BBJ worldwide would not be such a bad gig.. .. .Questions for you:. .. .1. Do you have a full 737 type rating?. .. .2. How far afield have you flown - African ops yet?. .. .3. Why the interest in moving away at such an early stage of your career? I guess you can.... .. .You can also email me directly if you'd rather not make it public - I'd enjoy hearing about your current situation - current company, routes, how you enjoy the 737NG, etc.. .. .Good luck

PETE37NG, I sugest, to keep your current job, there in rainy Germany. It is a tricky period now, where companies operating NG's 737, seazed ops, and therefore many capt's as well as copilots, with grate experience, are looking also for a job.
My grand father told me "the enemy of the good, is the better".

Kalimera( is that how you spell it?) OXOGEKAS,

thanks for your post and advice and sorry for my late answer!
True on the one hand to keep the current and safe(?) job, but one
of the reasons for changing from my previous company to my current 737 company was also the chance of maybe getting a Job
somewhere in the world on a 737!!!
Anyone else out there with some ideas??!!

Great weekend to all of you!!!

Peter

It looks like Privatair will be adding BBJs or A319CJs to fly similar services to those provided to Lufthansa for other airlines - (i.e., business class shuttles on specific long-distance routes). I'd contact them and develop friendships with the HR people. Contact Jet Aviation again as well to inquire about potentail BBJ jobs.

Other suggestion: look on the BizJets forum below and email Bobby Johnson - you will see his posting - he is a BBJ pilot for a Suadi - maybe he has advice....

Also consider Air Seychelles in the Indian Ocean - just recently acquired some 737NGs and had a posting for FO positions about 6-9 months ago. Wouldn't hurt to contact them again (not sure about contact name) and offer your services. I bet the Seychelle Islands are A LOT warmer than Germany in the Winter.

Good luck and keep us informed - which airline do you currently fly for?

Cheers

Hi Lavdumperer,

thanks for these ideas, I will definetly check them out!!
I sent my stuff to Privatair 2 or 3 months ago, but so far no answer from the swiss people! But it's a very good company and interesting job, that's what I heard!

I am currently flying for a European charter Airline on the -800, nice routes, nice people, money is "okay", but I wanna get outta here and do something different!!

Any more Inputs are highly appreciated!! Danke!

Peter

Pete,

I also just saw an ad in Flight International for BBJ/737NG Captain and FO positions at Fordair out of Stansted. Check out the Biz Jets forum below and email a bloke called "StressFree" if you want more details - he is a Fordair BBJ captain. I am not sure that your flying would be too far outside of Europe, though. I think the BBJ is used as a shuttle for employees around Europe - you probably have more variety now...

Good luck and keep us posted on what you find...

Isn't China airlines (CAL) looking for F/O's?

Taiwan is definetely different from Germany

Good Luck!

I wouldn't mind a change of venue myself, but I'm afraid I couldn't handle the right seat again, I've become much too ornery for that and nobody seems to need anybody in their mid fifties with 15K hrs on round dial 2 & 3 holers.

Anyway, things could be a lot worse! i guess I'd rather do 500 hrs. a year on a 200 then 900 hrs on a 300 or 800 and then there is the climate and the pretty Girls!
Come to think of it I have it pretty good!
I do feel a lot better now!

Take care!

Leading Edge.....

You might want to look into the Caribbean for Winter work, because that would high season here.

Some years ago when we were operating the 734 we were exploring a possible seasonal swap of aircraft and (front end) crew with an outfit in Germany, we would use the extra capacity in the Winter and they would have used it in the Summer. We were looking at offering crew a minimum of a month long assignement on a voluntary basis, most crews were enthusiastic about it.
Subsequently, some Pilots were trying to do it on their own, but it got too complicated with currency issues, vacation and health insurance etc.

It would be nice! Good luck
