They're hiring madly now. That's what I noticed. Once every month since June. The next one will be on the 25 & 26 Aug.

Lets talk about their recruitment practices. I've heard a number of nasty stories. Putting torchlight to your face to see how well your complexion is, etc. Is that even legal?

really???? torchlight????

hmmm...thats why their FA's are perfectly flawless and pretty!:D

But it's quite ridiculous in my opinion. Anyone will feel vulnerable under that kind of scrutiny.

Yes...they are recruiting every month since last year......either crew resign after getting their bonus or they transfer to another airline...mostly qatar, emirates or etihad cause these 3 middle east airlines recruit extensively in singapore as well..........

First round - self introduction in a group of 10
Second round - one to one
third round - for ladies it would be the 'uniform and skin check test'- yes they do have lights shining on their skin to check for any skin related problems and were told to walk to see if they look good in their uniform..For men...none....it is illegal though for major western airline....
fourth round- swimming test...jump and swim backstroke....life vessel provided...so no worries if you dont know how to swim
fifth and final round- management interview...

Every stage is an elimination stage...clear all..go through medical in own country.....have to go through check up once again in singapore before your meployment pass is approve....

Heard that they are going to recruit till next year...in huge shortage of crew every month.....

Hello, just read about SIA CC recruitment on their website for their coming interview. The first stage is like MAS interview also leh. Abt the qualifications for Malaysians,I'm quite confused with the following. Can anyone help me out, please?
Requirements

Singapore or Malaysian citizenship
Females who are at least 1.58m; males who are at least 1.65m in height
At least 2 GCE ‘A’-level credits and 2 ‘O’-level credits including General Paper in the GCE ‘A’-level examination; or a Diploma from a local Polytechnic.
(Those with at least 5 GCE ‘O’-level credits, including English, and relevant working experience may also apply).
For Malaysian qualifications, a minimum grade of B4 in English at SPM level is required for the above.
Completed, are exempted from, or are not liable for National Service. Those in the process of completing NS may also apply.
Does that mean for Malaysian candidates, the only required SPM B4 in English and not others?
I completed my SPM with A2 but my Pre-U, incomplete. I've got working experience though. Do you think I can apply?

SIA is very particular about educational requirement, height & weight issues as well.....Pls ensure that you meet their minimum requirement....SPM...They might eliminate you due to insufficient working experience...not guaranteed though.....Just go and try...

Yeah I am thinking of going to the interview on the 25/26 this month.

What sort of questions do they ask on the first round?
I meet all their requirements but I am underweight. Will that be a problem? And looks-wise, do they immediately eliminate people who doesn't have straight teeth or flawless face/skin? I don't mean skin disease, just a small scar or a mole.

went to the qatar airways cv/resume submission 2day but din get any call from them. my friend, on the other hand got called for tomorrow's 2nd round interview. he went SIA interview months ago in KL. he was disqualified during the water test when they saw his tattoo on the arm. are they really so strict about tattoo?

If its on his arm, it wouldnt be seen when he wears the uniform. I think they just enjoy knocking people off.

well, they dun care if the tattoo is visible or not when u wear a uniform. they just kick u off. my friend that i mentioned, he has a female friend looking like Kavita Sindhu but has a scar on the hand. she used concealer to cover the scar but the interviewer just take her hand and rub it off and str8 away disqualified.
actually, does looks really so important?i mean i don't really see much of good looking guys on SIA. i believe i am quite good looking bah:E had a flight from SIN-CDG and one of the male crews dun even speak English well.(he is from SIN tho) if all these airlines companies choose good looks over working experiences then i have no say but wish them "SHENG YI XIN LONG" and hope they won't regret for taking those with good looks but you know......

Is it a big and obvious scar? I went for Silkair 2 years ago. Silkair is part of the SIA group of companies so I believe the recruitment process is about the same as SQ. I have a mole on my face and the recruitor then told me not to worry about it.

The part where the interviewer took her hand and rubbed off the concealer sounds nasty to me. I mean if she had used concealer to cover the scar, it shouldn't be visible anymore.

I do agree with the "good looking" people on SQ. But hey...beauty is the eyes of the recruitors.

How much does SIA cc earn? I know their website said its about S$3500 a month. What about those still under probation?

Bloody hell....hello guys, this is a greeting from Seoul Korea.
I 've just got some news few days ago, SQ will have an interview in Seoul in this month. but I'm going to TPE to attend open day of QR. it's gonna be very busy and dizzy month to me I guess.

but I do have a problem which is my skin. I heard that they gonna do sort of a torch test to the candidates. I have some freckles around my eyes.
Do they really love a person who looks like a babie doll???

I'll just challenge to this tough interview and I hope oneday I could make my dreams come true. pray me guys...

have a fantastic day in your places......see you~ :)

Hello there!
Did you go to the interview? They're having one tomorrow here in Singapore. And my cousin is one of the interviewers. I'm still not going though.
