Hi all,

Could someone tell me which aircraft type will be flying the LGW-SSH route this winter?

I have a feeling it's going to be the A320-321 but then realised it's nearly a 5 1/2 hour flight?

Could it be the 767/330?

Cheers,
Simon.

Why not? The A320 does SSH from BHX, albeit restricted to 162 pax.:ok:

Ah interesting! I just didn't think it could make it in one go!

162 pax? Even that sounds like a sardine can! ;)

Standard load is 180!!!

Nice! I'll look forward to that then.....not!

I'll just hope for a tech aircraft, don't fancy being cramped up for nearly 6 hours on a narrow-body A320 with nearly 200 seats! ;-)

Roll on the 767 or A330! Hell, even the A300 would do! ;-)

Done GLA/LPA in an MYT A320 back in January and was on the a/c just over 5 hours due to a ground staff strike at LPA which was delaying everything and it wasn't that bad.

A tip though - make sure you do not get the row immediately after the overwing exits as these seem to have the worst legroom.

Cheers for the advice mate!

I've not flown a charter airline for years. I'm sure it can't be as bad as the Excel 767 (which is now operating as a freighter!) I flew on 4 times!

I dont understand why people complain about travelling longer distance in a norrow body aircraft.
When your sat in your seat you have the same amount of legroom as your seat on say a 767/A330 (charter airlines anyway)
So whats the problem? forgive my ignorance but if im sat at row whatever on the A320, it wouldnt make any difference if I was sat at row whatever on a 767?!
MYT use the A320 for PFO/LCA which isnt that short of SSH, having flown on it and worked on it for many years.... its a pleasure to fly

Can anyone tell me where the 2 Mytravel 767-300's will be going when Mytravel get rid of them.

Oh believe me, I've done my fair share of the longer flights on a narrow body aircraft. I just feel I have more room on a bigger plane, just feel's bigger in some senses.

Just personal preference I suppose...

I have also found that being on a narrow bodied long haul a/c (transatlantic 757), anyone hanging around for the toliets or waiting to get past the trolley are squeezed further up the 1 aisle which annoys people who believe they are sitting far enough away from the toilets not to have several people hovering over them throughout the flight.
There is just a little less room to stretch your legs on the flight in my opinion.

Doubt if it will be the 330 as they are off to do the Haji this winter again, all of them if the bid is successful. So the 767's will probably catch all the long haul. So looks like it will be the baby bus (320)
