Lightweight headsets...any experience?

The Flight Testing section of PPrune didn't really help...:uhoh: Hope I will have better luck here and I hope I won't p...s o..f the mod's with a double-posting...!

Has anyone bought/tested one or possibly both of those fairly new lightweight headset now available on the market?

I am interested in hearing about the LightFlight MACK1 (http://www.pilotmall.com/product/1935/Lightspeed), the ClarityAloft (http://www.pilotmall.com/product/2683/clarity) and the Plantronics MS200 (http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat1230032/cat640036/prod5370011) models. Slightly different concepts (although I think the MS200 will suit just a liner/bizjet flightdeck) and different prices, I wonder if they are worth it or if it is better to stay close to traditional models like BOSE or DC X11 although price is almost doubled.

Any feedback?

I have used the Telex Airman 750 for over 10 years now, both on airliners and coporate. Can't fault them. They have been around for a while mind, so cannot compare to the ones you mentioned.

dunno the ones you name but I can recommend the uflymike / Bose Q2 combination, works like a charm

I've only tried the ClarityAloft version once, but in a very noisy aerobatic aircraft. They work very well in that environment, the damping is superb compared to regular passive headsets and the light weight makes you forget you're wearing them. I found them extremely comfortable, enough so that I will replace my Peltors with a set eventually.

The owner of the aircraft bought two sets and loves them...

Or you can use the Bose aviation X headset, this is a marvellous tool, a little bit expensive but worth it.

since you´re asking about those specific models I don´t know if this helps - but I can say I am more than happy with my Telex 850. ANR through the normal plugs, no batteries and small enough to fit in every flightbag.

Compared it with some Sennheiser ANR´s (much bigger) and I can say I made the right choice. And I wouldn´t call the Bose X a leightweight ;-)

Neither would I. And not that cheap if you compare with those 3 models I mentioned. Bose X are an exceptional product but still "old school" and so are the David Clark X11.

I am curious to hear about those who are using this new generation ones: a collegue uses Clarity Aloft in pistons a/cs and they seem to work well. I am just looking for rela experience on the other two or similar types.
