Low cost CPL ?

Alright folks,

was speaking to a person who knew a first Officer. This guy said he went to do his CPL in the states and only cost $44,000.

Does anyone know if this can be done and if so would being trained in the US be subject to some sort of conversion exam to fly in europe.

Also wondering where the cheapest place to do a CPL course is, how long it would take and whether or not it would allow immediate employment in the UK.

Google is better for searching. Use the advanced function and set www.pprune.org as the website to search. Google will accept 2 letter searches whereas the pprune engine won't.
