Hi,

I have done the interview and simulator evaluation this past February for Air Astana and am currently employed through DPI for KC(air astana).

The interview for me was general(non technical). The questions that were asked were on a personal level. Questions on your availability, hours on type, last sim check. A document check of your licence, medical, logbook. Very straight forward.

With regards to the simulator. For me, it was held at GEcat at London Gatwick on a B767.

Not too difficult, the examiner is looking at basic instrument flying skills and CRM.

It consisted of:

1) A two engine takeoff without automatics and flight director from Amsterdam. On takeoff, your FMS fails. You must fly raw data and
cross check your information with that of your partner.

Followed by..

2) A nonprecision approach for a two engine landing.

3) An engine failure after V1. Radar vectors for a single engine ILS..Land.

Thats it!

Use your own company sop's and you will do fine. There are no hidden
surprises.

Good Luck
