Does anyone know of a free source of TAF/MEATR to get on your mobile as they all seem to now charge for what was free and available on the web?

www.avbrief.com/wap.wml

You'll need to know the ICAO designator for the airfield that you're after.

Edited to add: Just noticed Non-PC Plod's post. DIALMET is definitely NOT free. Calls are charged at either 34p or 49p per minute!

Avbrief is the one I have been using, but it has not worked for the last week or two. Looking on their web site it is now chargable. "http://www.activitae.com/airbase/phone.htm" provides a cheep service but does not have long tafs and does not seem to update as quickly as the data is from the USA!

but does not have long tafs
Why do you want a long TAF? One of my instructors always said, "Happiness is a two-inch TAF"

Cheers

I have been hounded by some colleagues to update my older flight planning software for the PDA. After lots of :ugh: I have put together a full release shareware version now. If you wish to try it out, then you can find it at www.qservices.biz.
I have uploaded all the older platform models as well, i.e psion 3mx, and 5mx as a few of you have asked about them.
If you have any requests or queries, then you can contact me via the website.
On a more personal note those of you that know me, will know that I was assessed as LTU in 2001 and had to leave BHL. I am now due for major surgery in the next month so you never know, I may be fit enough to get my licence back :uhoh:

Hi all,

I found Pocket FMS quite good and useful.
http://www.pocketfms.com/
It's free for 30 days use - best make a backup of your PDA before licence period expires ;-)

Borneo eh, how's tricks out there? Haven't heard from you since Eket I think!

Performance, hmm, I will look in to that are you using the standard charts on the Sikorsky website or different ones?

Yes, a couple of tours in Eket before you went off to start the shafting(ed) process in Trini!:\

No: RFM graphs. When I'm back (in UK on leave) I could e-mail some samples. JB is busy at it too, for BHL.

will it work on nokia n 95 phones

QM

I doubt it lartsa, as that phone uses Symbian OS 9.2, S60 rel. 3.1 as an operating system, as opposed to Windows mobile.

I am looking into a phone version of it, but again it would be windows based.
