At some time in the late '40's a RAF Vampire was forced down by the Russians who claimed it had infringed one of the Berlin Air Corridors.
The pilot was a P3 (Sgt Pilot) Jordan, later commissioned and was a staff officer at RAF Halton in the early '50's.
I understand Jordan spent sometime as a 'guest' of the Russian authorities and was then released, but they never returned his dH Vampire.
Anybody with any details of this Cold War incident?
