I'm sure a Virgin 744 took off from 08R at EGKK some time after noon today.

Is this a quick fill in, or has the 742 replacement started in earnest ?

A 747-400 has landed at LGW at about 0600 all this week. I too was curious.

0600? That would indicate the LGW-EWR flight is now switched over to 744s. (Deps 1300, arr. in LGW c.0610)

Expect to see more as the new B744's come on line (5 in the next few month's), not sure how many will be LGW based though.
