Hi there,
I just got an job offer as co-pilot with dhlair uk, LEJ Base. :)
I also got an job offer with an passanger airline on 737 as a Captain. :)

Now I have to decide where I want to go to. If anybody can give me more detailed information about my questions and beyond, I would be very happy.

A few things were already diskussed with DHLair at the interview, such as
-days off
-salary
-bondage
-pension
-loss of licence
-holiday

but can anybody tell me more about the details such as

-do I spend my days off always at home or also in hotels at weekend i.e.?
-how is a typical roster looks like? check in/checkout, legs per night?
-where do pilots spend the waiting time at night between the flights, at the a/c or in crewroom? When in crewroom, is it possible to get a cap of sleep?
-I am a non-smoker, is it allowed to smoke in the cockpit?
-how is lifestyle with the family?
-are there any other important aspects to know about night flying?

What about the future with DHLair and LEJ Base?
expansion, a/c reduction, fleet change?

Does anybody knows a german pilot working with DHLair?
Please contact me via pm.

Thanks a lot to all and,

many happy landings;)

discussed is maybe the wrong word, they told me about the bondage!
However, is it not usual or was it not usual in the past?

Fow, I do believe that Apron is teasing with you, and my assumption is that you are not a native English speaker?

Using the word bondage could lead to you getting tied up with all sorts of problems if used in the wrong sense; better to talk about 'the bond' or even 'bonding'

Hope you get a sensible response to your Q's

you are right, I am not a native english speaker and as I see I have to learn a lot more of english but I think you all know what I meant.;) I'll do my best!

@neil
they told me 11 to 12 days off a month, but I know the crew shortage and I think its because of that. What are the min days off?
In general, are you satisfied in spite of the less off days?
Are the information under this link (http://www.pilotjobsnetwork.com/factfile.php?id=a8se40skenh9xpxymckhv7phq28u26q0255vwm40ybxg ng4wjbz) correct?
You also may write me an email!

Thank's

min. is 8 days off per month!
Yep there is a crew shortage at DHL and with the other 757/767 operators increasing wages, DHL Air response is "there is no money for a payrise"
But funny enough there is money for the managers bonuses!
There are lots more people planning to leave, as management has been pissing us off and been lying to us for too long.

We have 2 happy German pilots working for DHLair.
The days off are a little tight at the moment while "house cleaning" takes place, but that will improve very son as the newby pilots come onto line.
Family life is excellent mostly.

Hi guys!

Funny enough, you mention that you have a shortage of pilots @ DHL UK while I recently received a mail where they told me that they presently had no vacancies... Can anyone confirm that?

Cheers,
