during my time there in the 80's to 90's, I'm sure I remember going over to some original WW2 sandbagged revetments just off the taxi-way past the old SAR pan area (the sandbags had long since rotted away, leaving behind the now rock hard sand).

Was it a dream or am I right?

Now the place has closed for military service, and if they're still there shouldn't something be done to preserve them as a piece of wartime history?

IIRC, the revetments date from around the time of the Korean war, when protection of aircraft was deemed necessary, and not WWII.

At least in Google Earth the Jaguars are still in residence.

So I did get his name right....... I came over from Germany twice with 20 and on the second visit years apart he welcomed me back and told me how much i owed him lol.... I duly paid up but left again in credit never to return........... NAAFI shares must have halved on what I owed him

Hello
For those who served at RAF Coltishall (1940 to 2006), they may find a new book by Mick Jennings MBE, simply titled 'RAF Coltishall, Fighter Station' of interest. It will be available via Old Forge Publishing or local book shops from the 1st November 2007.
