Obviously English is very important for flying commercially, and if you study in the UK the training and exams will all be in English too.
I can personally recommend BCFT - currently doing ATPL groundschool there and very much enjoying it.
Good luck with your training.

I trained at another school in Bournemouth (sadly no longer around). There are many language schools teaching English to foreign students there. I believe there were even a couple specialising in aviation English for pilots and controllers (there is an ATC college there too).

BCFT have a good reputation - i would advoid the PPL side from personal experience, no where near the same quality.

In response to the last post. BCFT are now offering PPL as part of their new modular 'Jetline Course'. Contact Dena as they have in the past done modular PPL's for those who express an interest in staying for commercial training. It is a good way to go as their PPL will be done to a high standard and will put you in a good position to go and complete your CPL.

Hi Guys,
I have a meeting with the bank manager this Saturday to discuss funding. If all goes well and I pass my medical in 2 weeks time then I will be starting there in October / November time on the Jet Line course, and then progressing onto my CPL in January. I just hope that BCFT is as good as everyone says and that the job prospects improve over the next 18 months, im giving up a very good and well paid job to do this. Scary!!!!!
Anyone had good experiences there?

Just finished an FAA>JAA IR conversion with them. They are very good, honest and up front as well.
Good Luck with your training!
PS book accommodation as far ahead as you can, it can be a bit of work finding a place close enough if you don't have a car to use.

Well this is the one part of my training that I am lucky with, my parents only live around 15-20 mins away from BCFT and they have offered to let me stay at home and even ferry me there and back every day when I sell my car. So I am really lucky there. Have you managed to find work yet?

to marco fly...if worried about the language side bcft has some good inst for that also more than welcome to visit the tower and listen in for couple of hrs, tends to help understand a bit more when seeing it from other side, have had plenty of students do that

I did my CPL with BCFT late winter/early spring '07, I have flown with a fair few schools and rate them as one of the best, first time pass in minimum hours and now F/O on RJ85. Recommended :ok:

What do you think of BCFT ? I am considering going there for my flight training 'Jetline' but I have no idea how many hours will you accumulate?

Any help.
