heard of a bloke thru a mate of a mate;
he was in Angola a couple of years ago in a Kingair on a UN contract. Apparently he was on $15000 p/m.
can anybody tell me if that sounds accurate, and if any jobs like this are still around?
Cheers in advance

Sorry to dissapoint you. I flew King Airs in Angola a few years ago and salaries were more in the region of $4000 - $5000. If anyone is earning $15,000 flying King Airs anywhere on earth it's likely to be very dangerous, very illegal or both.

I agree. I occasionaly fly UN Kingairs, and any company that is paying their pilots 15000 usd/m must be losing money at a rate of knots. 4-5000 is about right.
Have heard of a couple of guys flying an ancient 707 in the vicinity of Angola making 10,000 USD a flight - cargo is fuel and ammo, operating into gravel runways at night. To each his own.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Thought it sounded a tad extreme but at the risk of appearing a little naive thought I'd check it out with you blokes first. To good to be true.......
