Well, I'll be darned...
I look at Japan and all I see is Boeing Jobs? Except for one lonely Airbus contract in some remote location in the South.
So why does Japan seem to favour Boeings?
Any ideas and comments welcome. :hmm::hmm::hmm:

mate very interesting that you note that. I know a thing or 2 about it as i had boeing and airbus for my strategy classes. here goes
1) Boeing has developed a lot of the new material for its dreamliner in japan
2) its not collaborative work but sub contracted to japan
3) japanese govt has bank rolled about 500 million $ for the dreamliner

and hence you see most japanese airlines nippon et al are boeing lovers....it is an unholy nexus to say the least but thats the way the cookie crumbles..aint it mate

Hi Orangewed,

thanks for the interesting info. It makes a ot more sense from that angle. Yet I feel Japan seems to be more tied to USA than to Europe in more than one way.

Is it because they are geographically closer?

Why is Airbus not moving in more agressively to try and score in Japan?

:hmm::hmm:
