Sunday Times (20 Mar)quoted that Coleman Andrews had been called by the Department of Public Enterprises to "answer questions" concerning SAA's decision to spend R4.3-billion on the 21 new generation 737's. It was mentioned that there was a need to examine whether any there were any "conflicts of interest" and whether SAA got the "best deal in terms of industrial interests and leasing arrangements."
Airbus is not sitting idly, it has asked for proof of Boeings "industrial offset package."
