ATPL cpl

IF i did my ATPL would this mean that i dont need to sit exams for CPL as ATPL covers CPL anyway.

So if i was to do a ppl at my local flying club and then go to somewhere like cranfield CATS and fo my atpl would this mean i have a ppl cpl and atpl.
What extra things would i have to sit, would i need to sit an instrument rating aswell?

OR is it best if i do my ppl in the same place as my atpl
