Hello all,

A few months back I was returning home from Latvia. About a minute after departure we started turning on course to the destination, with the nose still up quite abit the plane felt like it started to fall kind of. While the plane itselfs didn't look like it was dropping a few people gasped as their stomach's whent, including mine... I'm not sure what it was, so would like some advice. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Sam :ok:

From my experience it may happen in poor weather, and when they begin retracting flaps

Before flap retraction, it is normal to pitch the nose down a few degrees, reduce thrust and accelerate.

Acceleration and deceleration forces can fool the inner ear into feeling that you are going up or down.

Add that to a turn with a little 'g' and it can feel uncomfortable.

So plenty of potential factors to make you feel weird, but quite safe and nothing to worry about.
