Hi folks

I am looking for some advise on a good flight school in Arizona that caters for the FAA licences, both part 61 and 141.I am currently flying in a school in oaklahoma, but the weather for the past 8 weeks has been terrible, and I am way behind schedule.
Also does anyone know if you can transfer from a part 141 to a part 61 course??
Any comments/advise would be greatly appreciated as I am very frustrated with my situation.
Thank you in advance.

I assume your on a M1 visa? If so I don't think its easy to just up-ship and move to another school?

Yes thats correct, I'm out here on an M1 visa.Any specific info would be very helpful indeed. If anyone out there who is on this type of visa could let me know how they got on, that would be great

The M1 visa is sponsored by that one school, as well as all your TSA approval. You can't just goto another school. I'm not sure of the details but you will def need to change the visa and that *might* mean that you have to leave the country and then come back again. You'll have to talk to the US immigration about what you have to do.

Damn...it always has to be bloody complicated.I will contact immigration so and see whats involved.I just hope it doesn't take too long or involve leaving the US :* Thanks for the advise anyway.

Blinkz is 100% correct in what he says. Your visa is valid as long as you are a student at a particular flight school. You cant just leave for another flight school and the school you have the visa with are well entitled to have you deported if you try to change school.

The Visa IS as easy as just switching schools. The school you are at now transfers you out, and the new one transfers you in, all using the online SEVIS system. Of course, that does rely on the old school being willing to transfer you out, and I know of one school in FL who prefer to cancel the visas to prevent you moving.

As for TSA, that's school-specific, and you will need to reapply, but no need to resubmit fingerprints.

Can't help with the school though, sorry!

I recommend you try CRM Airline Training Center at Scottsdale. I've used them several times to train people from the UK for their FAA ratings; New aircraft, well equipped and on site examiners.

Hi

How did the change of school go? Any problems with the M1 Visa or the TSA stuff?

Would be useful to know. I'm going out to Florida to train from October and if I get any problems, I don't want to be stuck in a bad place!

Thanks
