Anybody know where I can get a flightsuit at a reasonable price in Melb? Have tried Aussie Disposals and both pilot supplies shops without luck.

Or if someone has one lying around that would fit a 6'2'' skinny bastard i'll happily take it off your hands for a few $$$.

They are readily available on Ebay, but you will need to search Worldwide!

Or you can buy them made to measure in Australia from Sisley clothing, (http://www.sisleyclothing.com.au/) they provide most of the aeromedical opartors in Oz.:ok:

Wasn't getting the same reaction at the local latte hangout in the shirt, pants, hat and bars so i'm going with the flying (point taken shouldhe) suit. Already got the helmet and aviatiors, just need the suit. Now that the 'flyboy' number plates have arrived i'll really hook the fly girls!

Really, just sick of the oil stains flying the Tiger. And it'll look the part for the pax.

Wanderin Dave you are a rare breed these days.
So many people these days would have been offended by my dig about the flight suit. :)

You just took it and ran with it instead of getting all bent out of shape.

Well done, maybe there's still hope for normal people yet. :D

As a student on the Gold Coast I was at a school mainly owned by ex-military guys. The exception was the son of an estate agent whose father had bought into the company.

He had the bright idea of the instructors having to wear flying suits, he even bought one and hung it on the back of his office door. The CFI's response was "I spent over 20 years wearing those bloody things and you'll never get me into one again", the others just ignored the idea. One night after a session at the Aero Club we stitched up the cuffs on the legs and sleeves and poured in about twenty pounds of uncooked rice, it stayed like that for weeks before mysteriously disappearing and he never said a word:p

Haha, you guys are all funny!

I don't know about Melbourne, but here in NZ I got a some flying overalls (being a "skinny 168cm tall chick") from an Army Surplus store.

Second-hand of course, but excellent condition, fire proof (needs to be the way I fly...) for $100. Being second hand also make you look not so much like a try-hard... lol

Haha! Perhaps I should have said "chick proof" ?

Its hard to look gorgeous when you fly with no door, at 100mph, so a girl has to do all she can...

(not to mention stopping every item in the cockpit either going out the door or over my face :ouch: ... hence the suit with all the pockets ;))

For some reason or other the Poms call em "Growbags" :uhoh:

Worn often by "Chislers" :bored:

Allow me to translate...

A growbag is something you buy at the garden store, typically used to grow tomatos and the like - basically a long bag full of fetiliser / soil, which you 'unzip' down the long axis and stick plants in.

Passing resemblance to a flying suit..
