Citation Excel - super light category

Probably looking at an upgrade onto the 560XLS in the not too distant future. Was curious to find out that it isn't regarded as a mid size biz jet. What MTOW is required for mid size?

Define "mid-size"? Are you talking about Vortex wake categories? In that case light is anything up to 17000kgs, medium (ICAO) is 17000 - 136000 kgs (bearing in mind the UK has "small", 17000 - 40000kg)

Isn´t medium category starting at 7000kgs?

I´d guess the medium size stuff is just marketing talk...

I would say that the Excel is the "entry-level" midsize.
