It might be an idea to look through next (and the following) week's Flight International, if one were looking for a change of scenery ;)

212, is knowledge power to you? :hmm:

Why the mass exodus, 212 ?

212man
5th Jul 2007, 23:54
Stas-Fan, not at all: I was simply trying to avoid the "oh, I never saw that ad" syndrome we had last time (even though I prompted then too). Looking at my profile, it should be fairly obvious what the jobs will be! (Home page + aircraft type:ok:)

MrW, not really 'mass', and not for a single reason.

I would think the "Old Boy" network would fill any and all vacancies 212man?

It is a nice gig you talk of.....why would the Resume pile not already exist?

Perhaps it is the HR curse at work again.....and Managing Pilots cannot do the hiring. That would be a real shame.

Getting my CV up to date in anticipation ;)

I've done my first solo - does that count?

Yes, not sure how long after going into print the web ads appear though.

Require 61 or 92 rating, or will lots of medium offshore meet the requirements for applying if/when the job gets posted?

Bravo73

Before you all go telling your CP where he can stick his job, Note if you will the company address Bristow's International ( Guernsey )
Should you receive a contract from this Guernsey operation you may wish to ask them under what countries durastiction will you be covered in respect of Employment Law.
They will either struggle to answer :oh: or they may even break with tradition and tell you the truth NONE !!!

Rest assured that's not the before mentioned upcoming ad.

Mr W, quite so! :) The same thing happened last year: people started posting links to Bristow International ads!

If it's shell Brunei, would you not be on a SSTC agreement? Rather than 3rd party though BIAGL?

Quichemech,

The link to the job in Mr.Challenger post (to Flight International website) is not the one 212man alluded to or Bravo73 gave a quick précis from, it’s one for Bristow International.

Greetings,

Quichemech, unless if there's a deal with BIAGL (don't think so) you'd be with Brunei Shell as an LTC.:ok:

Is that like 'jurisdiction'?

212Man, the boys looking over my shoulder have a question: is this UK licence mandatory or could, say, a Canadian apply?

I am talking about the Brunei ad.

212man
14th Jul 2007, 01:32
Flung, you can't mention age limits anymore in Europe (where ad was printed). In reality 35-50. Hours quoted are Shell Group minimums: don't expect to get far with just those.

Swamp76, not mandatory, but about 99.9% preferable.

There is also this job too: http://www.flightglobal.com/jobs/2007/07/13/9003522/head-of-flight-logistics-brunei-flight-crew.html

212 man,
I assume all these vacancies are for direct entry captains? If so, do you use local pilots for FO or expats as well? And is it touring/equal time or full time living over there?
Cheers,

I missed the boat on the job application last year at Shell Brunei.

Any idea who to send a speculative CV/resume to?

Many Thanks

I have not seen the advertisement as yet, but,

Would it be correct to assume that anyone on the wrong side of 55 need not waste his time applying for a position with Shell Brunei ,
whatever the amount of flight experience, or additional status in this context, on the S92, ..............(or on the S61/B212/As332)?

Cheers

s61n, there is no advert coming - the thread relates to last year. You would be correct in your assumption - after all, the normal retirement age is 55 here - however due to the EU ageism laws, any advert printed in FI will not state an age range (this was a change in last years ad vice the previous year)

Cheers
