Hellooooo
You are Kuwait A340 driver? Not familiar with Middle East carriers? You don't meet other middle eastern crews at your layover hotels? You don't know how to access airline websites to search for "captain" requirements? Are you a cadet pilot?
You can go to airline websites and find answers to your questions. If you don't know the website address, GOOGLE will get it for you. For example, at EK [I don't work there] this is the scoop, I found directly on their website under "Careers" "Flight Deck" "Minimum Requirements"
Requirements for Position of Direct Entry Captain:
A minimum of 8,000 hours total flying time
A minimum of 3,000 hours in command of multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft in excess of 55 tonnes MTOW
4,000 hours flown in multi-crew, multi-engine jet or turbo prop aircraft with MTOW of 10 tonnes or more, as P1 or P2
Preference will be given to candidates with Boeing EFIS experience who will be eligible to undertake a short transition course
Must be a current Captain
First Officers, qualified as Cruise Captains, do not meet the Direct Entry Captain requirements
ICAO ATPL
English language fluency (written and verbal comprehension)
Requirements for Position of First Officer - A330/A340 and B777
A minimum of 4,000 hours total flying time
A minimum of 2,000 hours multi-crew, multi-engined jet aircraft experience
ICAO ATPL
English language fluency (written and verbal comprehension)
Experience commensurate with age
Type rated would be advantageous

Hi kuwait340,

As per Kuwait's last advertisement,
Not sure what type but they said:

Accumulation of total flying experience of not less than 7,500 hrs

Have they lowered there hours?

Check your private messages

Cheers.

I hope you are joking. Spent 10years at that sandpit, never saw and expat upgrade! Promises were made, many left absolutely frustrated! Get out if you have done the time!!!

At Gulf Air, promotion from company First Officer to Captain is only on the Boeing 767 and A320 (no upgrades on the A330 or A340). Given that the Boeing 767 is expected to be phased out and it is doubtful that there will be any more upgrades onto the left seat of the 767, I will concentrate on the A320 qualifications as they currently stand:

a) Licence Omani ATPL

b) Flying Experience 4000 total as pilot including:
i) 1500 hours flying on multi-engine airplanes with an MTOW greater than 50,000 kgs.

c) Pilots with no previous Airbus Fly by Wire Experience:
The command evalutation and command interview will be undertaken by the A320 Fleet, following completion of a successful recurrent proficiency check on the A320

d) Pilots with previous Airbus Fly by Wire Experience:
Command evaluation and interview will be undertaken on their current fleet.

Glue Ball....you totally mis-understood the question (typical in the aviation world)...i am not looking for the requirment to recruite into one of the gulf region airlines....

i am looking for the requirment from the zero if you started with the airline,as if you started as a cadet and then (say at 4000) you will be entering the command process..

it is totally different than recruiting requirment.

panama jack
thanks for the input.it is just what i am looking for.

Qatar 3 yrs operational service, 5000 hrs. pilots who have 3 yrs & 6000 hrs are considered for Right to Left on A330. If you meet the criteria, you get selected regardless of your colour, nationality & passport. One of the positive points in QR Flt Ops. GMFO needs kudos for this.:ok:
