Hi
Can anyone tell me if for the Civil Aviation exam for the Class 1 Medical if you are tested for epilepsy? I've never suffered with it fortunately, but I've heard that this particular strobe flashing makes the candidates feel quite sick.
Many thanks
Paul

This (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/49/SRG_Med_InitialJARClass1[2188].pdf) document seems to suggest that an EEG is no longer administered. It would appear, therefore, that epilepsy is no longer tested.

I took my initial Class 1 last year, the EEG test was not performed.

I had a note in the paperwork they sent me explaining why it was not done any more.

I did my Class 1 in May 2005 and was not tested for it. However, I recently spoke with a fellow student who swears he had his medical after me and did have to have it done. Bizarre!!

Cheers
