When do people usually get into the training dept.? Are they only Captains?
I ask for interview purposes, is it wise to show interest in that area?

Just when I thought the training system was getting better they go and give LM the position of 744 sim training manager.....

Glacier 1900, Training FOs were introduced a few years back as a way of expanding the Training Dept and providing cheap training for SOs. It hasn't been too successful - some of those that volunteered were there more for the power trip than any real interest in training. By all means show a long-term interest in training during your interview, but I wouldn't get too hung up on the T/FO thing - they might be suspicious of your motives!

I can't believe LM is now in charge of the 744 sim training. I honestly think he is bi-polar. He's in charge of a fleet he has never flown?? How can they put people in charge of such positions that have never flown a Cathay aircraft?? :ugh::yuk:

Only at Cathay.

I agree, plus his training method leaves a lot to be desired.:{:{
