does anyone happen to know where i can get a fairly decent booking and reservation package from an Australian company or one that at least does Australia?

couldn't agree more, Takeflite is fast becoming the industry standard, Australia and NZ based, have been using it for 4 years and can't fault it, maybe try www.tflite.com
