Thought visitors here might be interested in the progress already made by the Jetstream Club at Liverpool to restore the Bristol Britannia freighter G-ANCF. Six months ago the scrapman lurked and here she is at the Liverpool Aerofair yesterday:

It is still the mother of all Airfix kits, and I am sure that they would appreciate help/ sponsorship from anybody who is able.
This is the same in happier times:

As one who 'rubber necked' at Liverpool many years ago, it was pure nostalgia to see this aeroplane once more on the concrete at Speke.

It could be the 40's but it was June 2007!

Is 'CF' going to be painted in British Eagle livery? Although I worked on 'CF' for a number of years when it was with Monarch, it would be good to see a Brit in British Eagle livery once more. We used the a/c to operate to Woomera for a number of years with a 'few' problems, but when it was reconfigged and flew IT to PMI etc it often used to come back sick as a pig. The config on the Woomera flights gave plenty of leg room (and foot rests), there was a Crew Rest Area (with bunks), extra galley equipment. The toilets had a ladies powder room area. If I remember right, the pax seats were bottle green as was the carpet. For its day it looked quite good.
Not so long ago Monarch found an old Voyage Report for 'CF' on one of it's Woomera trips and gave it to me. It so happend that this was a trip where there were a few Technical Problems. We carried an 'Engineer Guard' as well as the Flight Engineer. On this trip, from the report, both earned their salt. The reason that I was given the Voyage Report? It was compiled by the Flight Engineer who was my father. Seeing a picture of 'CF' was great, many thanks. I wish you and the rest of the team at Liverpool the very best with rebuilding the a/c. I am sure that all of those who have an affiliation with 'CF' will be wishing the project well.

As the Jetstream Club is a registered charity and not a corporate or profit making company, therefore I hope that the 'mods' will not object to a link.
I am certain that Roy would welcome a photocopy of the documentation that you have. Details of the project can be found at:

Liverpool (Speke) is very much the spiritual home of British Eagle, and Charlie Fox is being repainted in the British Eagle livery. A most welcome addition to the preserved airliners of the UK and the fourth Britannia to my knowledge.

Funny, I thought that would have been Blackbushe or Heathrow. Didn't Liverpool only become important with the take over of Starways in 1963? So the main Liverpool connection was only for 5 years.

Fair comment, but Liverpool was 'the Britannia' servicing base attracting many exotic liveries to the Eagle maintenance facility. Blackbushe and Heathrow do not have an art deco air terminal converted into an hotel with (thankfully) aviation minded hierarchy who are prepared to have preserved aircraft compliment the ambience of their investment.

So no argument, but my opinion stands, and I am entitled to my opinion.
