On a recent trip to China I stumbled across this article in the Shanghai Daily reporting that "US-BASED Hiller Aircraft Corporation will set up a plant in Zhangjiakou in North China's Hebei Province, to produce civilian helicopters."

As an owner of a UH12B this was quite interesting but I wanted to ask the question if the UH12 helicopter although very basic and slow would make a viable trainer in todays world ?
I have no interest other than being an owner and my opion is that it would as they are safe and all the principles are the same and easily transferred to a modern machine.
Also does anyone have any more information about the production in china?
