Taken by a fellow loadmaster (non-tipping variety !!!!) whilst parked up in Accra last week, apparently not much damage to tail end.

I have never personally witnessed an event such as this but I'm told that the "tipping" actually happens quite slowly so that it's possible to have minimum damage.

BUT! In an attempt to right the aircraft it's possible to have things go too fast and when the plane settles back on the nose gear, if things happen too fast, there can be damage to the fuselage.

Again: no personal experience with this, just some food for thought.

Spoke to our people in MIA, and was told that this aircraft took about 6 minutes to come to rest on its tail, that's why this aircraft did not sustain any damage.

Maybe Atlas should move their Tail Logo more towards the center of gravity.

If you click on the above image it will go to full size where you can see the airbags under the nose to stop it dropping down again.:bored:
