View Full Version : Flight Training for ATPL in France / Groundschool in UK

Hi guys,

I am going to start training towards my ATPL - I held a PPL a few years ago but it hasn't been current for a long time so I think I'm going to have to start again!

I have chosen to go the "modular" rather than "integrated" route - mainly for cost, but also because of my circumstances.

I would, if possible, like to do a distance learning course (such as Bristol GS) for the ground school. My parents live in France and my stepdad is quite ill at the moment, so the more I can be out there to help out the better...

Therefore, my question is - is it possible to do some (I doubt all!) of the flight training in France, given that the ground school would be in the UK... I know that in *theory* JAA means exactly that - *joint*, but I have heard in practice that it is not quite that simple...

Maybe doing my PPL in France would be a start - would it be valid in the UK?

Many thanks,

Martin
