Hello all,

Does anyone have any stories they can share with me about how they became involved in aviation in Africa? I'm a new CFI (soon to be CFII) with about 250 TT. I have my multi as well. I currently live in Illinois. Moving from the whole flight instructing thing in the US to flying in Africa seems like such a huge jump to me, but it's really what I think I want to do. Is there a path that a lot of people take to get into the scene in Africa? Maybe some of you come from similar backgrounds as me. Any advice or stories would be greatly appreciated. And go easy on me... I'm new here.

Get some more hours behind you will give you a better chance. The best way is to get your a$$ over here with some cash (hide it cause in africa is has a habit of going missing) and just knock on doors. Timing is everything so do a search on prune to find out when the high seasons begin and try and to be there about a month or 2 before they begin so you can have your license sorted.
Good luck
