route into BHX rwy 15 - where did i go ?

Hi

got back into BHX from gothenburg yesterday. From some info i requested a while back on the outbound route i believe we crossed the east coast just south of newcastle. I'm trying to work out where we went from there. In particular - we made a long left hand turn shortly before the announcement for landing was made at which point i could see what appeared to be the west coast out the right hand side of the aircraft.
I really can't work out what i was looking at as the route after that appeared to be pretty straight to a landing on rwy 15.

Anyone know whether that was the coast? if so, which bit of the coast that would have been ? If not, where do you think we were ? :confused:

By your description you most likely crosed into the UK in the vicinity of Ottringham heading towards a fix just south Manchester. At that fix you will have made the significant left turn to BHX. Immediately after that turn, on your right, you will have seen the Irish Sea around the area of Wallasey.
