About 12 years ago I was working as a Customs Officer (please forgive me) at Hatfield. At the time there were many corporate operators based there at what was a promising exec airport until BAe decided to pull the rug. So, what happened to everyone?

Indeed it was a promising airfield. Ideally situted on the A1 out of the city - better access than Farnborough certainly.
There was talk before Christmas of starting it up again for Executive Ops - but it all went a bit quiet.
The operators spread out when it closed. Hatfield's loss was Farnborough, Luton, Heathrow and Cranfields gain. Of those operators there are only a few left, the pilots that I know of now work for corporate flight departments and (gulp) the CAA.
