I have noticed that SQ have been sending a 744 on a few occasions recently into DXB, as opposed to the regular 772 or 773. (I have noted it mainly on Friday's). From a distance, I initially assumed it to be a Mega-Ark. However, closing-in on touch down, it became apparent that it was a pax jet.

Anyone know if this is a permanent feature on the timetable, or just a temporary replacement.

Thanks.

SQ introduced non-stop flights to CAI in late March. Previously the flight operated via DXB with B773s. As for the B744, the aircraft was used for the past month on one of the airline's weekly DXB services (continued to IST)

SQ operates SIN-DXB-IST in B744 on Day4, return Day5,
from May10 till May31.
For spotters in DXB : Friday 02.55 L - 04.10 L and the return
flight 18.45 L - 20.00 L

So tomorrow May 31 could be the last 744 departure
in 744 through DXB

Amadeus was showing the 744 to IST as nonstop and not via DXB.
