Just wondering if anyone has any idea how important it is to have a Virgin "Blue Star" on a Virgin Blue application?

I don't have one and have had my application in for just over 12 months with no response.

Took 5 years before i got a call, but i did. All good things come to those who wait, so don't be too worried if its only been 1 year!!

Oh you scared me with the title of your post, I thought it was going to be the name of DJ's international airline, don't do that to me.

I've been blue star-ing (or equivalent) a good mate for over five years. Has good experience [B]including[B] an Embraer 170 ticket, but not a squeak from VB......
As they say in the USA.........go figure.....

Frankly, a little ammused by the whole blue star thing, there doesnt appear to be any reference to it on there recruitment site unless i'm missing something. Have a number of people i know within virgin who think that it doesnt exist any more then i did speak to someone the other day who said it did and that it certainly was important in gaining an interview. :ugh:

Well, nearly a year on, just wondering if anything has changed with "blue stars"? Does it actually put your application higher in the stack to have an internal reference? Knowing how people work, one would think it must. However I note there is still no reference to it on the recruitment site application.

Even lately I've seen people with less experience than others get an initial interview and the only seeming difference is that they "knew a guy" on the inside.
