Good Evening,

As is pretty commonplace in our sector of the industry, clients often change their plans at the eleventh hour, particularly with number of pax, ETD, etc, etc.

Now, if flying to/in the USA, an operator must obtain a TSA Airspace waiver for each trip. The TSA currently advertise that it takes 5-7 days to process Airspace waiver applications for overflying/landing in the USA. They also state on their website....."Modifications to an approved waiver are acceptable when adding and/or amending personnel, flight itinerary, and/or dates, provided a copy of the authorized waiver is faxed to the Office of Airspace Waivers and a written letter that states the exact nature of the change to be made to the waiver is submitted"......

With my first paragraph in mind, does anybody have a better experience of response times (ie: quicker than 5-7 days) in regard to changing pax/crew/itinerary details.

Thanks in advance.

You can also apply for a fleet waiver. This is valid for 3 - 6 months depending on how they feel. 3 months is the norm. This allows you to operate almost as you wish. You need to supply the names and details of all the pilots as they will be listed on it and you can only operate with these crew. F/A's they treat as pax. If you have a list of regular pax include these aswell. The more you give them the better. Linda Robey at the TSA on a good day is helpful. They seem to change the application format monthly so best to check with them for an updated form each time. Otherwise 5-7 days means 5-7 days unless they are feeling helpful.
