Just curious, but how does a JAA & FAA pro' licenced pilot get paperwork to fly Caymanian reg' a/c? What, if any, exams are required?

Thanks in advance

as far as I know you just have to apply and have a restricted radio licence thru the FCC in US !! Not sure but thought that VP ?? is Bermuda so check that one out !!!

Thanks for the input. Need specific info on VP-C licence; a Bitish Colony licence. Any further info gratefully received.

A 'VP-C' is Cayman Islands, as far as I know the Caymans do not issue licences, only Validations on a specific aircaft and registration. They will accept both CAA & FAA
Licences. Obviously you will have to be type rated in the particular aircraft for a validation to be issued.
Hope it helps!

BGA,
VP-C is indeed The Cayman Islands as opposed to VP-B which is Bermuda. To get a validation for the Caymans you need to apply using a specific aircraft that you intend to fly. To get the validation you must of course have a rating on the selected machine, and be JAA/FAA licenced. As a British colony it comes under the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) order.
Hope that helps.
Cheers.

BGA,

To add to Stress free's Reply; to obtain a Cayman validation the type must already be on your FAA/JAR licence. The validation is aircraft specific (ie the particular aircraft's registration is printed on the certificate). It is valid for one year and is renewable on production of proof of recurrent training.

Good luck.
