View Full Version : Swiss Corporate Flying Jobs?

I have a Swiss friend who is very interested in finding a corporate/charter flying position in Switzerland. He has several thousand hours of turbine time - most of it gained in the States. He also has a G-IV type rating.

Can anyone tell me about any interesting positions and charter outfits based in Switzerland? I am aware of PrivateAir (I've seen their website). I know he would be interested in flying big corporate iron if possible. Any examples of interesting flying?

Appreciate any information

Lavdumper,
Is your Swiss freind a deaf mute?
Why can't he find his own job?
If he wants to find a seat in heavy iron he will have to do better than to rely on his friends to do his dirty work. Surely if he is G IV rated he can work the net?

V1 Rotate,

That's a nice, constructive answer to a simple question. Instead of such a negative attitude, why don't you offer some good advice or information?

My friend is not particularly internet savvy at this point. So, like a good friend, I elected to source some of the data for him. I THOUGHT I could find some reliable information on this sight... Apparently I was wrong. Only insolent *ssholes with lame comments are answering.

Does someone want to provide some pertinent information and prove me wrong?

I would sincerely appreciate some good information related to this topic.

LavDumper,
Realy, Do you expect someone to hire this guy if he can't even work the net by himself?
What is he afraid of?
If I were G IV rated I would find my own seat I wouldn't rely on freinds to do the spade-work. I seriously suggest that your freind buy a PC and a Modem and enroll in a basic computer course before he does anything else.
Hopefuly this insolent *ssholes' advice is taken as constructive critisism.

It would seem that although management skills
and flying experience are a pre-requisite for a corporate jet captain position, spelling clearly is not!
(just touching up my grammatical flow here!)
tee-hee.

yes it is indeed a funny old world. Networking seems to be the key to a job in this fickle but very rewarding theatre of operations. Lavdumper-your buddy needs to knock on doors in that alpine financial resort and meet people personally, I would suggest.

Try ... www.jetaviation.com (http://www.jetaviation.com)
Also a company called G5 executive based in Basle I think. I have no contact details for the latter though.

Spook,

Thanks for your information. Finally, a serious answer to a simple question.

Nice to know that some of the respondents on this forum are interested in helping others -versus wasting people's time with lame/useless responses.

Still interested in more pertinent information if there is any out there...

Thanks

I agree completely with the need to network in this and any industry. I am not suprised although continually dissappointed by pilots lack of willingness to help others and to hinder them from acheiving their goals.
I would like to think that our area of aviation is above battles such as seniority etc... that plagues the airline industry.
Lets work together.
Any of you bown in Sydney for the Olympics?
Let me know I'll show you the sights.

Lavdumper: try www.climbto350.com/aviationjobsboard.cfm (http://www.climbto350.com/aviationjobsboard.cfm) and www.findapilot.com (http://www.findapilot.com)

It seems like there were some Swiss corporate jet positions advertised on one of these sites about a month or more ago.

Besides searching the net, I agree, your friend needs to knock on a few doors in Switzerland. The weather is great there right now. I flew over the Alps on Friday! Lake Lucerne looked great. Ciao.

Check 6,

Appreciate your information and help. Nice to know there are some good guys out there willing to help fellow aviators.

Yes, I agree, my friend will need to personally knock on some doors - it certainly helps that he will now have some good information before arriving. I believe he is planning a trip to Zurich, Geneva and Basle in the next two weeks to do just that.

Thanks!

Lavdumper,

Tell your friend to goto Jet Aviation of Basel or Zurich and speak to some of the corporate guys, I am sure they have vacancies. I usually fly corporate jets into Jet Aviation of Teterboro, NJ and I always see a lot of European pilots in the pilot lounge waiting.

good luck

LearX,

I appreciate the information and I'll pass it along.

Just curious, what type of Lear do you fly and do you enjoy it?

Happy flying!

Lavdumper,

I fly the old Lear 20 and 30 series, I would have enjoy it more if there is more leg room, I guess I couldn't complain about the sheer speed though, its like a rocket !
