Dear All,

I wonder if someone can help me with regards to an indicative cost for an air ambulance? A friend's elderly mother is about to be discharged from a French hospital (near Toulouse) and she needs to get back to a hospital near Swindon (UK). Because of her age, she doesn't have insurance and due to the nature of her illness, she cannot be flown back commercially because of pressurisation whilst the overland trip would be very difficult for her.

Could someone let me know what it would cost for this type of trip? I assume that because it would have to be flown at sub 10,000, it would be more expensive than normal but any info would be gratefully recieved.

Many thanks in advance

You could do a lot worse than to call Cega Air Ambulance. They got a couple of King Air's which would be perfect for you, and can provide the medical team too.

If you're after an Air Ambulance, I'd suggest looking at Air Medical (www.airmed.co.uk ) as they specialise in this type of work.

They have a range of aircraft types and may be able to suggest the best one for your needs. Can also arrange all the other aspects such as ambulance transfers and medics for the flight etc.

All the best.
