Chinook Causes Dispute among Neighbours!

My neighbour A doesn't get on with his nearest neighbour B. B is in the latter stages of getting his PPL (H) and, once or twice, has landed in his garden with an instructor.
Last Thursday evening, about 21.30, a Chinook flew very low over the properties just to the west of EGHH zone making that wonderful noise that only Chinooks can. This is not an unusual event where I live.
The next morning, A dashes off to the local council to complain about the noise that B made, landing his helicopter near his house in the dark.
Absolutely unbelievable! I hope that, if the Chinook crew read this, they might have a little laugh about it.

How does a member of a military forum afford a house near EGHH where a neighbour has a garden big enough to land his helicopter in?? Sounds a bit waltish to me! :E

I had some real estate in Oz a while ago. I was waiting for a Mirage III to make an unfortunate arrival. Never happened. Though I do know someone who got one once.

Land wokka in back garden , drive car and bike off park in garage, get back on and adios !!! whats the problem , FAST JETS -they may look pretty and fly fast makes lots of noise , but I bet you cant get a gazebo in the back 50 of your mates 4k worth of beer and a great sound system. Remeber its a lot less bovver with a hovver!!!

Will never forget landing in a field outside of one of the 18(B) guys parents place on the way up to Kinloss, quite a reception too.... Aswell as making as much noise as possible over loved ones houses, its all true about boys and theyre toys :)
Agreed though ,id never have seen it happen in my time as Ops on XV(R). Although id did take two attempts to get to Kinloss due to birds.. Barstard things...

Know a bloke - these days a very senior man in Oz CAA - who, thinking to impress his brand new fiancee's dad, landed his dusty green wokka in father-in-law-to-be's home paddock out back of Wagga Wagga.

And impress him it did.

F.I.L.T.B. was scion of (now re-named) Country Party, a then ruling political party made up mostly of farmers that was so conservative it would have made Maggie T. look like a rabid socialist, and he was holding an important Party fund-raiser that same afternoon by his pool. (F.I.L.T.B. was not your average dirt-poor Oz farmer.)
Lotsa rotor wash + the usual Australian drought = two inches of red dust over surface of newly cleaned pool, plus more red dust and assorted hay cuttings over pool surrounds and 60 or 70 already set up chairs and tables... and a NOT HAPPY F.I.L.T.B.

... and that was before he found his prize bull (it's always the prize bull) had de-knackered himself on the home paddock's three strand barbed wire fence when it bolted to escape from all the dust and noise.

I don't know how many years it took F.I.L.T.B. to forgive his soon-to-be-new son in law, but he did let his daugher marry the man and they're still together some 30+ years later.

I was a passenger in a Lynx that woke a family up one morning as it landed in their garden between Carrickmore and Cappagh,they were even more upset as we kicked in their front door and arrested mummy and daddy for terrorist offences:)

'course wouldn't happen here. Even the horsey variety loves a wokka now that the wind turbine lobby is trying to put turbines every where.
