Dear all,

I have used the search function on this but have come up with pretty much nothing. Im doing some prep for the third interview (CPP) and have been told that cadets (should they be selected) would be joining on a C scale package. I understand that this is a basic of HKD32000/month and no housing as I believe this is classed as a 'local' package. As I am yet to earn my first serious dollar I am quite naive in such matters and would appreciate anyone who could fill me in on the C scale package, and others i.e. JFO,FO,relief and CAPT. I also believe that as an SO one would fly about 4 long hauls a month, with 400HKD per day as spending money on the route. Does this vary with rank and fleet? Any help and figures on general finances would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Bjbb:uhoh:

Cadets are on “B” scale like DESO’s but unlike DESO’s don’t get housing, education etc. Their basic salary though is exactly the same.

“C” scale was a term that was used to describe the new DEFO pax conditions of service that was rejected by the members of the HKAOA and subsequently dropped by the company.

In regards to the conditions for JFO, FO, Relief and Captain, a quick search on this forum will yield the results you are looking for.

Finally in regards to overnight allowances, they differ from port to port. Ones rank doesn’t play a part in the amount you get. It is the same regardless whether you are the captain or the most junior flight attendant.

Thanks very much! good thing i checked up on it. So as a DESO on a B scale package is education and housing the only things that are extra on top of the basic salary and above that of a B scale of the cadet?

Thanks again,

Bjbb

Thanks again,

Just need to get myself through the next stages and i might be a little closer to having my very own B scale package! May I ask anyone out there if they know if this is correct... the third interview follows roughly and with a slight generalisation. Tech Questions. some again from the CX cadet tech book, some that may challenge you (beyond book into other realms) more fleet information, engines, spools etc.. and then more personality based questions. Also the ICAO english test. what format does this follow. Is it standard R/T and you listen and write down correct answer sort of thing or is it like a uni english test, where you listen for the correct word out of a multitude of choices.

Again, thanks for all the help,

Bjbb :}
