IFR in France

Apologises for not asking in french.
When flying IFR in France is a Mode S transponder now mandatory ?
In the UK we can fly IFR in any class of airspace, ie class G.
Is this also allowed in France ?
Any references to the appropriate legislation appreciated.

The March 31 2007 dateline is for all IFR aircraft. Extensions until Dec 31st are granted case by case, upon receipt of a proof of near-compliance.

I guess Class G IFR flying is still allowed in France.

Of course you can fly IFR in class G airspace!

For mode S, I don't know a lot about regulations, but I keep flying IFR on small aircrafts (C-177) with mode C only. This does not mean it will last for long.... seems like officially you need mode S now, but there's a certain tolerance till the end of the year.
