Ladies and Gentlemen, time is running out on the annual flight time limitation changing from 900 to 1000 hours. The GCAA have been good enough to publish a Notice of Proposed Amendment (03/07) to seek industry opinion on this intended change, which is due to be enforced as of 1st June this year. Industry opinion - that means you, and of course your company management, who may not see things in the same light as you and your colleagues. The final date for comment is 1st May, so spread the word.
Regardless of what you think as to the effectiveness of talking with the authority here, this is our one chance to be heard on this issue. It would appear factoring is back again unchallenged, but now here is a chance to voice opinion on how adding an extra 100 hours a year to the flying limit may not be in our interests. If the GCAA has no body of evidence against this intended proposal then that makes it even easier for them to go ahead with the change.
I know this has been covered elsewhere, but please see this as a reminder with a week's notice. It's time to stop whinging and start acting now - log on to the GCAA's website (http://www.gcaa.ae/en/?T=1&ID=77), and register your dissent!!
