Hi
I hope this is an appropriate forum to ask the following question.
I am hoping to fly LAX-HKG on CX on a zed fare ticket. While the seats are available, I was told by CX reservations that non-rev pax may be off loaded due payload restrictions. Does this happen often on this route this time of the year ?
Thanks

I'd put your chances of getting on as better than Quacker's now that spring has sprung, but don't rely on it if your job depends on it. Mind you, given that there are 70+ seats every day for quite a while now you can always try a day before you need to and buy a full fare the next day (or a bucket shop cheapie) if you don't get on.

Now let me answer my own question as the thread starter.
Sunday night I tried CX 883 (2350 dep), off loaded with few other SBY pax. But managed to get on CX 881 (0150 dep). I did not see any empty seats on the plane. Flight time was 14.50, 15 mts more than block time and with bad weather in HKG, it was a wonder that I managed to get on. Nevertheless it was a good feeling to get a seat as I was not looking forward to spending the night at LAX.

Thanks a lot for all your inputs.
