What are your thoughts of the impact of RVSM in Europe on 24/1/02 on non-airline type jets?. .I suspect that it will be quiet at FL290 and above. However, at FL280 and below it will be become very crowded, with "slot times" becoming a very real problem.

Better a turbo-prop at 230....should help KingAir sales I would think.

The vast majority of charter aircraft are having to upgrade to RVSM requirements in order to continue operating, and a large number of aircraft are either being withdrawn from use, or converted.

In Flight International this week, RVSM and EGPWS upgrades are cited as reasons for Chauffair's demise - certainly the costs for older aircraft (designed 10+ years ago) are substantial.

It's a bit worrying that all of the Europe's RVSM and London Centre's new ATCC are both coming into effect at the end of the same week. Oh deary, deary me!

I'm sure that in the short term the delays will increase below 290, but with a large number of RVSM converted/new aircraft coming on to the line, I'd be surprised if it will make a huge impact after the first few weeks of hiccups.

the probelem that we aqre coming accross is that we are held down due non RVSM trafic below F280. . .It is no becoming better to point the sky and climb max rate ATC tend to keep you climing that way. Any thoughts. Yes we are RVSM complient.

Haven't run into any problems yet however, I'm usually way up there in my comfy GLEX. I'm sure the time will come when descents will be a problem.
