This is actually on the RAF Careers Website! Who is Gp Capt Suave?!!

http://www.rafcareers.com/altitude/games/suave/gameloader_raf.swf

As an aside, this was sent by a USAF colleague, who believes that we use this as some kind of aircrew selection test (although, to be fair, I think we do!!).

Looks like medical insignia on his lapels which might explain why his flying was so bad, nothing to do with my reactions on the keyboard you understand:}

Medical Branch...that makes sense - it would explain why he has only 2 stripes on his No1s...hasn't had time, between promotions, to get it tailored :}

Having misread the banner on the said RAF Careers website, which I initially thought read "Group Captain Suave is (rather than vs) a large monkey", my vision has now improved and I see that the "GC" seems to have undergone an incomplete transfer from the US Army Air Force (vide the lapel badges and the American style salute). Not to mention a total lack of scrambled egg on his cap and the all important brevet....

Jack

PS Or is it a naval style salute, borrowed in a laudable, but badly aimed, attempt to benefit from recent positive Senior Service publicity?:)

"Oh dear! Wait 'til BEagle sees this."

I have - it's $hite!

Whatever happened to Air Ace Picture Library (http://www.bookpalace.com/PicLibs/AirAce/index.htm) and 2/- Airfix kits in placky bags coupled with youngsters' imagination and the noise of low flying military jets.....?

Drop Zone (http://www.rafcareers.com/altitude/games/dz_game/dzgame.cfm)
Global Rescue (http://adverts.freeloader.com/kerb/raf/)
wilderness challenge (http://www.rafcareers.com/altitude/games/wildernesschallenge/index.cfm)
rockface (http://www.rafcareers.com/altitude/games/rockface/index.cfm)

Not too bad and a tad less chessy than the good Group Captain

Judging by some of their knuckle scraping ground crew that frequent Odious I believe they have binned recruitment for press gangs.;)

Re the BBC 'Rockface' game linked by PARAFFIN PARROTT;

Isn't it impressive that 'Auntie' had a 5 year lead on Lynx with the 'BOM Chika WAH WAH' music? Quite fitting for the FAA :)

Just tried that first link. Our network security system blocked the site and announced that it was classified as "Job Search" and my attempt to visit it had been recorded and would be reported!

I look forward to my "interview" with some interest and very little trepidation. :}

INSTRUCTIONS.

To control your plane use the left cursor key to climb and the right cursor key to dive. Be careful not to stall the engine by climbing too steeply.

Bugger! no key for the clutch. I certainly wouldn't want to stall my "plane".

What a wonderful introduction to a career in professional aviation. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to collect bags of peanuts rather than bananas?
