Afternoon

Found this on Google Earth does anyone know the identity of this aircraft as i have searched various sources for stored aircraft etc but with no luck.

I cant seem to get a URL link onto this forum for it but the co-ordinates are

24 30 57 72 N

54 58 39 22 E

It looks like a Boeing 727

Looks like it's abandonned, what is this place military or Oil? See a couple of bunkers on the southern side.

The aircraft is an ex Aeroflot Tu 134, used by the UAE special forces for training. Hence its inside a massive military training area. Somewhere in my albums I have a photo that I managed to sneak some years ago when I worked out there.

My mistake. Its a Tu154M, RA-85857. On the photo you can see where the original CCCP has been oversprayed. I first saw the aircraft in 1999, don't know how long it had been there then. No scanner so no can send the photo.

Can you confirm 85857 ? No such Tu-154M is known to exist. Thanks !

One of my contacts reckons this may be UN-85387 ? as if it is a TU-154M they are all accounted for ..

There is always the chance that the reg has been painted on incorrectly on purpose ?:hmm:

Apologies for the serial, bit of finger trouble. I should have wrote RA-85057.
