CRJ200 Type Rating commonality

Hello,
Anyone knows the validity of Bombardier's popular Regional Jet type rating to fly some of Bombardier's business jets. I know the Challenger 850 will be the same type rating (it is a CRJ200 with executive cabin), but is it a common rating with any of their other Challenger jets? Thanks for your replies.

Don't know for sure, but the 300 has to be a big fat "no" - it didn't even used to be called a "Challenger" until the marketeers got involved.

Can't believe either the 600s or 601s would be considered "common" with a CRJ to any great extent - the cockpit architecture is substantially different. The 604/605 are the most likely candidates for commonality (in fact, probably the only ones).

Only a partial answer, I fear.

You can fly a Challenger 850 (formerly known as an RJ SE) with an RJ type rating but not any of the other (300/600/601/604/605) Challengers.

The majority of systems (flaps, electrics, spoilers, hydraulics, ECS, A/Ice) on the CL600/601/604 are very similar in operation to the RJ-200 but, as everyone has said, not close enough to claim any credit. The CL300 (ex-BD100) is completely different in both systems & avionics - not least of all the software-based menu selection of display contents & tuning from the Proline 21 avionics. The CL605 has similar displays & controls as the 300 but all the systems are the same as the 604.

We went from CL604 to CRJ200 and had to do a complete initial course, there is no differences course available from 604 to CRJ200, mainly as crj is for airlines and no one wants to pay for developing the course? This may have changed with more 850 coming into the system but I doubt it.
