Drug Testing and the CAA (JAR) Class 1 Medical

Hello all,

Allow me to preface this by saying I am not the drug user concernerd, however, my stepfather smokes enough cannabis to put half of Jamaica to shame, and between him and my friends, it has inevitably entered my lungs in no small amounts in the last 30 days. As my medical is approaching I am wondering....

...does the CAA employ drug testing in general or the Tricho ( I googled it) hair testing technique at the medical stage (for the Class 1) , or is that taken on only "with probable cause" in the worklpace??

Any advice/ knowledge welcome.

No drug testing on Class 1 medical in UK.

However, if the passive inhalation is very significant and you feel it may be doing you harm or may affect future job prospects, which I doubt, why not speak to your GP for some reassurance or testing even.

I think I will indeed do that. My drugs days were experimental and I'm happy to say long gone, but I can't say that everyone surrounding me has reached the same conclusion.
