Hello ,

I have approximately 500 hours total time.

150 hours are on twins.

Fractional ownership company near where I live have PC-12 aircraft and are hiring and will be for a while as they are expanding.

Talked to a pilot that has told me this company has hired pilots with as little as 700 hours total time for the right seat of the pilatus.

The average hire has about 1200 hours.

I am debating to whether get a flight instructor rating so I can bump up my times to at least 1200 hours for this position or fly a twin engine piper airplane which I have access to for a very good and cheap price ($120 an hour Canadian).

Would you get the instructor rating or would you rather fly this twin engine airplane at your own time and schedule for this great price and build multi engine and cross country time.

Your opinions please.

I would get the instructor rating. I will make you a much better pilot then flying around on your own.
